Reading Schedule - Feb 12-19

Hi ladies! So, by now I hope most of you have gotten the book. I'd like to go ahead and get started. I thought by next Friday (Feb 19) we could read the first 128 pages of the book. That would be right up to the chaper titled "Eat or Be Eaten". If you'd like to read further than that, great! But I figured we'd start slowly (that's only 18 pages per day for the week). Throughout the week I'll post little items for discussion and we can talk about what we've read.

Robin also had a great idea that after we're all done with the book we can have a girls' night and watch the movie together :-)

Voting is UP!!

The winner of our first book voting is The Time Traveler's Wife. I know I said that we were going to do a book per month, but now I think that needs to be a bit more fluid. I am going to give everyone to the end of this week to pick up the book, then we'll sort out the reading schedule. Feel free to go ahead and get started reading when you get the book. We'll be covering at least the first few chapters the first week.

I'm excited to get started! If you could all comment on this post to let me know when you got the book that'd be great!!

Suggestions for February are now closed and the voting can begin! You will find the voting tool at the top of the right sidebar. Please only vote ONCE. I can't figure out a way to restrict voting to once, so we're going on the honor system :-) Voting will close at 5:00PM next Friday, January 30.

February Kickoff

Hi ladies! I'm so excited that you have decided to participate in this online book club. I wanted to lay out how I think this is going to work:

• We will shoot to do one book per month. Depending on if we decide on a rather lengthy book, we may have to stretch it over two months, but we can play that by ear.
• Everyone can suggest books for the upcoming month, then we will vote on which one we are going to read.
• I will break the book up into segments so we will know what to focus on reading for the week.
• I'll start a blog post for that week where we can all comment on the chapter(s) for that week.
• I'm in the process of creating a blog frog community for this as well, where we can setup live chats to discuss the book.
• Once a month (towards the end) I'd like to have a face to face meeting where we can all get together to discuss the book.

Of course, any suggestions are appreciated as we move through the first month of reading, I'd like this to be an interactive experience where are all participating and contributing.

So, without further ado - book suggestions for February? Please respond in the comments!
